Pablo Picasso is perhaps the city’s most famous son (along with Antonio Banderas of course!). In 2003 the wonderful Picasso Museum opened in the heart of the old town with an extensive permanent exhibition of his work.
As well as being a cultural centre, Málaga is also a great place to eat out. The Malagueños love their food and the bars and restaurants here are a real social hub. The best known local fare in Málaga is "pescaito frito", an assortment of fried fish, including small sardines and red mullet best enjoyed when washed down with local wine.
